Alton Towers Phase 2.

Alton Towers upgrade their online booking system to Macromedia Flex.

Alton Towers is the UK's greatest theme park, home to legendary thrills like Oblivion, Nemesis and Air - and now, new for 2005, Rita - Queen of Speed launches into action.
Owing to the huge success of the Rich Internet booking system created by Monochrome, Alton Towers will be upgrading their online booking system to use Macromedia Flex.

Macromedia Flex is an application server initially released in March of 2004. In short it is a J2EE application that compiles on the fly Flex mark up language (MXML) and Actionscript into Flash applications (binary SWF files).

The goal of Flex is to allow Web application developers to easily build Rich Internet Applications, otherwise known as RIAs.

The new booking system will feature many enhancements, including a much easier booking process, faster load time, visual enhancements and increased extensibility, and is expected to produce an increased ROI.
