Monochrome are now a Heroku Partner!

As of today, we’re pleased to announce that Monochrome is now officially a Heroku partner. This means we now have an even closer relationship with our hosting company of choice and are therefore able to provide better services, support and advice than ever before.

Heroku (pronounced her-OH-koo) is a cloud application platform for Ruby – a completely new way of building and deploying web apps. Their service lets us spend 100% of our time on our application code, not managing servers, deployment, ongoing operations, or scaling. This provides benefits for us, and ultimately our customers.

You can read about one of specific experiences of working with Heroku in the write-up of one of our recent scaling experiences with Premier Foods and GreatLittleIdeas.com

Over the next few weeks we hope to talk more about Heroku and our new relationship, as well as some potential new opportunities for our existing clients.

For more information on this partnership and what it might do for you, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to tell you more.

It's four for four at Monochrome this week

This week has been a busy start to the year at Monochrome towers with us doing our first week of deployments, and what’s more we’ve done a deployment every single day of the week (we don’t deploy on Fridays).

So, what have we managed?

First up is the new SuperNoodles.co.uk. This redesign was done on behalf of Premier Foods for the ‘Cash in the packet’ campaign which is running at the moment.

Second, is the rebranded Ambrosia.co.uk, again on the behalf of Premier Foods to support the new Ambrosia branding, and related to their new sponsorship of the Lifton Link Trail

Third is a new dashboard for one of our Webtrends clients. We unfortunately can’t say much about this one, but we can assure you that it’s another great AIR based dashboard for another great client.

Lastly is a refresh of the FontsNow AIR application that we built for the guys over at Faces.co.uk. Lots of features in this release, as well as a new link up with TBWA/France. Hopefully more to come on these applications soon.

So, all in all it’s been a busy week, let’s just see if we can do the same again next week…

What's New?

Our team attended the Webtrends Engage conference in London last week to support the world of data analytics and visualisation.  In danger of sounding cliché it’s events like this that remind us all how fast technology really does change.  A reminder to businesses everywhere how important it is to embrace the world of digital to simplify your processes and continue to win new business.  Many of the keynote speakers based their overall focus around this point, for example David Rowan, UK Editor for Wired Magazine discussed ten trends that are disrupting businesses today and ten things we need to do about it.  With technologies and innovations being adopted and launched faster than most businesses can keep up with, his presentation considered the good, bad and the essential.

One other talk that cannot go unmentioned was by Joe Stanthorpe, Senior Analyst from Forrester Research.  Joe’s presentation covered three related items: key trends that are driving the evolution of digital marketing; the part web analytics plays in the implementation of a web intelligence hub; and how web intelligence can be used throughout the enterprise to support marketing across all channels.  All keynote talks will soon be on the Engage website.

Monochrome were asked to present at the event which further lead to becoming a key sponsor of the “Art & Science” conference.  Our presentation given by Neil Middleton (Technical Lead) addressed how using modern development and design techniques we deliver an improved user experience via efficient usability techniques coupled with an ethos of keeping things simple. Delivered in Neil’s traditional, comedic and informative fashion he, as usual, caught the attention and interest of the audience – Well done Neil!  The presentation may just work its way onto our website, we’ll keep you informed.

Website refresh
Monochrome believe in taking regular sips of our own medicine.  We always remind clients that “content is king” and to keep your marketing as fresh and current as possible.  so as we reach the middle of Autumn we’ve given the Monochrome website a refresh which includes new web application case studies as well as a brand update.

So take a browse through our latest portfolio and understand more about how the technology and design methods we adopt can enhance your business today.

Back at the end of November.

Wishing you all the best.  The Monochrome Team
