Connecting CFMX 7 to MySQL 4+

You may have noticed that there are some hoops you need to jump through in order to connect a CFMX7 install to a MySQL4+ DSN. All the details of this can be found on this .

However, be careful when downloading the MySQL Connector J JDBC driver, make sure you don't pull down the latest version as this is incompatible with CFMX. Now, the technote does say that 3.1.11 is not compatable due to bug 13469 and won't be until it's fixed. Well, the good news is, that isn't going to get fixed at time of writing, so in the meantime stick with an older version and don't hope to upgrade any time soon.
